In addition to her active studio practice, Lynne Avadenka is the Artistic Director of Signal-Return, a community letterpress print shop in Detroit. Recent Visiting Artist invitations include Delta College in 2015, a Visiting Artist Fellowship at the University of Michigan Institute for the Humanities and Visiting Artist at Susquehanna University, in Pennsylvania in 2013. Avadenka was one of four inaugural Fellows of the American Academy in Jerusalem in 2011 and in 2010 she was invited to participate in a Factory/Artist Exchange at Bullseye Glass in Portland, Oregon. Avadenka was awarded a Covenant Foundation Grant in 2014 and Kresge Fellowship in 2009. She has received individual artist grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Michigan Council on Art and Cultural Affairs.
Avadenka’s work is exhibited widely and is in the permanent collections of these selected institutions: The New York Public Library; The Jewish Museum, NY; The Detroit Institute of Arts, The British Library, London; The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; The Library of Congress, The Meermano Museum, The Hague, The Netherlands; as well as collections including General Motors, Detroit; Doubleday Publishing, NY; Compuware, Detroit and The North Campus Research Complex of the University of Michigan.
